At The Eve Appeal we have a passionate and committed Board of Trustees who want to make a real difference to the women and their family and friends affected by gynaecological cancer.

Tamara Box - Chair of Trustees
Tamara Box is the Managing Partner, EME and a member of the global board at Reed Smith LLP.
Tamara is a founding member of the Steering Committee of the 30% Club, an influential group seeking to enlist Chairs and CEOs to bring more women into senior management and onto boards.
Tamara is also a member of the Board of Interpath Advisory, a member of the Board of the Chartered Management Institute, a member of the Advisory Board of children’s charity, Theirworld and a member of the Court of Governors of the London School of Economics. Finally, Tamara has been included in the Global Yahoo Finance HERoes Women Role Model List every year since its inception.
Sally Bailey - Trustee
Chairwoman of the lifestyle brand Weird Fish and of the ethical, global marketplace Everpress. She is an operating partner at Future Business Partnership who provide sustainable businesses with ethically-motivated capital.
Dee Brecker - Trustee
Dee is a qualified executive coach and fundraising consultant. Prior to setting up her Coaching & Consulting company, Dee held senior leadership roles in high value philanthropy, fundraising, and communications in leading UK universities (KCL, LSE), domestic and international non-government organisations, and the public sector (NHS hospital charities, Department of Health, local government).
Sarah Clark - Trustee
Sarah is an international digital executive with expertise across developed and developing markets. She has broad international commercial experience in a variety of industries including travel, retail, financial services, fintech and e-commerce in markets spanning Europe, the USA, and the Middle East and Africa.
My sister was diagnosed with cervical cancer when she was a single mother to 2.5 year old twins. She thankfully survived, but I want to ensure that women are given the best possible chance for survival of gynaecological cancers. Nurturing ground-breaking detection tools through The Eve Appeal is a great opportunity to do that.
Emma Dean - Trustee
Managing Director at Portland Communications, specialising in public affairs and policy. Emma served the UK Government for three years (2019-2022) as a Special Adviser working for the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and two Health Secretaries. During this time Emma devised and delivered the first Women’s Health Strategy for England.
Ian Drew - Trustee
Ian is a Global Business Leader with over 25 years of experience of global leadership in the technology industry. He also has extensive experience within marketing, business development, strategy, investment, mergers & acquisitions and sales experience in large FTSE and NASDAQ Companies.
In addition, Ian has founded a number of start-ups in the security and open-source industries.
Dr Christine Ekechi - Trustee
Dr Ekechi is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London, and is also a women’s health educator and advocate. Her interest is in the gender and racial disparities continually present within the health system today.
She is the Co-Chair of the Race Equality Taskforce at the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and also their spokesperson for racial equality, she is also the RCOG Clinical Champion for The Women’s Network.
Dr Ekechi holds a Masters in Reproductive Health Research from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and her previous public health experience includes working with the UN, UNICEF, and national governments in the UK, Nigeria, Senegal, Malawi and Kenya.
Professor Ian Jacobs - Trustee
Professor Ian Jacobs is an academic, doctor and university leader. He founded the Eve Appeal / Gynaecology Cancer Research Fund as a charity 1985 and undertook the initial fund raising to set up the charity, before being Medical Advisor, Trustee and Emeritus Trustee during the last 37 years.
He has recently returned from 7 years in Australia as President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney and has re-joined the Eve Appeal as a Trustee and Co-Chair of the Research and Development Committee.
Prior to his time in Australia he was based in the UK, as Dean of Medicine and Vice President of the University of Manchester (2011-15) and at University College London (2004-11), where he was Dean of Medicine after setting up the UCL Institute for Women’s Health and the UCL/UCLH Biomedical Research Centre.
Sarah Morris - Trustee
Sarah is an Operating Partner at Bain Capital Private Equity, with a focus on People, Talent, and Organisational performance. She has significant international experience gained across multiple sectors, industries, and cultures. Most recently Sarah was Group Chief People Officer of Compass Group plc. She is a member of the Global 30% Club steering committee, and of HRH Countess of Wessex Women’s Network Forum Board. Prior to Compass she was Group Chief People Officer of Aviva plc. Sarah held Executive roles in the US at data and technology specialists, Thomson Reuters, BP plc oil and gas, RSA insurance and Dixons Carphone retailing.
Sarah has a passionate interest in all the work that The Eve Appeal does having benefitted herself from the pioneering surgical research in this area.
Marion O'Hara - Trustee
Marion O’Hara is a retired finance professional. She enjoyed a long career at City, University of London, serving as CFO from November 2021 until retiring in January 2024.
She joined the University in 1995 and has undertaken a range of roles over her career. This included time as an Internal Auditor, a seven year spell as Financial Controller of the Business School and then taking on wider responsibilities as Assistant Director and then Finance Director.
During her time with City, Marion served for 8 years as a sponsor Governor at the City of London Academy, Islington. In 2019, she was named a City Icon for her work with the community, recognising her work with the Academy and the clear direction and support given to all those involved in financial management at City over the years.
Marion is now a Governor at Leytonstone School and a Trustee of the Eve Appeal charity
Cathy Pittham Wiley - Trustee
Cathy Pittham Wiley is an NED and business adviser following a 28 year career in the world of communications and advertising. She has worked for large international groups such as Interpublic and WPP at an international level, on award-winning digital campaigns for countries and companies – specialising in the technology and med tech sectors. She is a cancer survivor.
My involvement with The Eve Appeal dates back over ten years to when I lost a friend to ovarian cancer. Following my own experience and hers, I realised how urgent it is that we educate women better about their bodies and symptoms to watch out for. Not only that, but how vital early detection is in successfully treating the five types of gynae cancers. The Eve Appeal is unique in its mission to deliver on both of those goals and we all feel passionately about our aims to prevent women suffering the tragedy – all too common – of late diagnoses and to fund research that identifies the best ways to detect these invisible cancers in the earliest stages.
Professor Adam Rosenthal BSc (hons) MB BS PhD FRCOG - Trustee
Adam is a Consultant Gynaecologist at UCLH where he leads the cervical screening and gynae cancer prevention surgery programs. He is also an Honorary Associate Clinical Professor at UCL.
He has an international reputation in this field, having been the clinical lead on the world’s largest screening trial of women at high risk of ovarian cancer (UKFOCSS trial), and having led the NHS pilot ovarian cancer screening program for women with BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations (the ALDO Project). He also sits on the national Cervical Cancer Screening Research Advisory Committee and the NICE Familial Ovarian Cancer Guideline Development Committee.
Adam has a long association with The Eve Appeal as one of the charity’s key medical advisors and is a passionate advocate for the optimal care of women at increased risk of gynaecological cancer
