Right now, it’s an incredibly worrying time for anyone concerned about gynaecological cancer symptoms. I see this first hand every day.
Waiting times to see a gynaecologist have tripled over the past decade, with many of the women I speak to waiting over a year for their appointment. They feel lost, anxious, frustrated, and in need of someone to talk to. That’s where Ask Eve comes in.
Ask Eve provides a judgment-free space for these women to talk to a nurse like me. We answer their questions and guide them to the right information and support. Whether they’re worried about symptoms, seeking information about treatment options, or dealing with long-term effects, everyone we speak to says they benefit from our support.
But Ask Eve is facing unprecedented demand. The number of calls has doubled in the past year and are at an all time high. We need your help. The cost-of-living crisis is impacting everyone, including Ask Eve. We’ve received less funding than we expected, and we’re facing uncertain times. We need to act now to make sure we can continue being there for those who need us.
That’s why I’m asking you to please consider setting up a monthly gift to support Ask Eve. Your generosity can ensure we’re at the end of the phone for everyone who needs us today, tomorrow, and for years to come. Any amount you can give will go directly to supporting Ask Eve and make a real difference.
It’s a challenging time. The service is busier than ever, and we don’t see this changing anytime soon. With your help, we can be there for everyone who needs us, providing the information and support they deserve.
If you ever need to speak to Ask Eve, you can get in touch for free and confidential advice by emailing nurse@eveappeal.org.uk or by calling 0808 802 0019. We’ll be there for you.
PS. I know not everyone may be in a position to make a monthly donation, but if you would like to make a one-off donation you can do so here.
