The Cocktail Hour blogger tour returns, and sees 20 designs chosen from McCall’s Vogue Patterns range for a new social sew-along; encouraging all those sewing enthusiasts-cum-bloggers (and we know you’re all out there!) to start creating their masterpieces; all in the name of charity! We’re very fortunate that through our partnership, McCall will be making a donation for every pattern sold to help protect women of today, and women of the future against gynaecological cancers.
Fresh off the machine…
Nina Chang, whose blog ThumbleNina paves the way to chronic her creative projects, along with any adventures/tips/ideas/inspiration that come her way – is a self-confessed sewaholic, who has recently blogged about her experience of taking part in McCall Pattern’s campaign #sipandsew
Nina, who also took part in last year’s Sew-a-Long, mentioned that her chosen pattern (Zandra Rhodes’ Vogue 1484) “jumped out at me from the get-go…it just looks so fun”, and was in fact quite similar to her design from last year which focused around the theme of a vintage cut.
She adored the “organza yoke with its cute little pointed collar and unusual armhole and sleeve bindings, and pointed skirt hem” but pointed to the fact that the Zandra Rhodes pattern is ALL about the bright colours, which just added to the overall impact.
Nina added that this particular creation is very much geared towards the warmer weather – but to keep things cool and breathable the dress is lined in cotton voile – she has “made something I can wear RIGHT NOW. At least until normal UK weather service resumes.”
THANK YOU Nina for supporting The Eve Appeal by taking part in the #SipandSew campaign.
