Gynae Cancers: A Brief Explainer

More than 22,050 women and people with gynae organs in the UK are diagnosed each year with gynaecological cancer, which equates to around 60 diagnoses each day.

Yet despite this, awareness levels among both women and men are startlingly low. That’s why here at #TeamEve we’re determined to change this by raising much-needed awareness of gynaecological cancers and their signs and symptoms.

We want everyone to know their body. We want to lift the veil of shame off female bodies and open up conversations so that everyone knows the difference between a vagina and a vulva, so that everyone knows there are five gynaecological cancers, and so that everyone knows their normal, can spot when something feels abnormal for them, and feel comfortable talking about it. Only then will everyone be able to access the healthcare they need, when they need it.
